GET OUT AND DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT ON A FRIDAY NIGHT! For two hours every Friday, around 30 youth meet in Highfields Church, to escape the pressures of the week, and the arctic conditions in the streets! We meet to figure out how the Bible is relevant to us - this term you’ve got the choice of: Bottom Line 9 – No, not a series of talks on how to improve your backside! We’re spending the term looking at 9 absolutely fundamental beliefs of the Christian faith : If you call yourself a Christian, you really should know the bottom-line on these 9 topics. Or, if you’re not a Christian, we start with “Who do you say that I am?” looking at the claims of Jesus through the eyes of people who met him in the book of Mark. We then move on to look at what the book of Colossians says about Jesus. These 30 minute discussions are followed by over an hour of games, football, craft, pool, tuck shop and just chilling out … with the occasional appearance of the bouncy castle, and … SPECIAL EVENTS; this term – outdoor ice-skating in the city centre, PLUS reGENerate Garden Clearing ; one Saturday where we work our butts off clearing gardens for old people in the church, and everything we clear will go to build one ma-HOO-sive bonfire for the end of half term!! How cool is that?!?! 'the Gen' shows us that Jesus Christ is relevant and real to this generation. We meet at Highfields from 8:30-10:30pm every Friday.
