Pastor's Message Dear Friends, I am excited about the week in June which will officially celebrate the opening of these wonderful premises. The remarkable story of their purchase by Highfields from the Presbyterian Movement of Wales and their transformation into a modern multi purpose facility is a triumph of faith and a testimony to the enduring quality of the Church. For this grand old building has been rescued from likely demolition by the sacrificial giving and brave vision of the congregation and Leadership (see slide presentation from Nov 1999). What we enjoy today is well equipped and spacious accommodation for about 600 in the Chapel a further 300 in the Pierce Hall with a variety of smaller rooms for seminars, conferences and special events. Two kitchens serve upstairs and downstairs and an inviting foyer distributes human traffic to both levels by stairs and lift. But this is more than a building, this is a unique context for the spread of the Christian Gospel to the community , city and nation. Such a purpose has returned the Monthermer Road premises to their original conception as a Forward Movement Church established to reach people with the truth and practical love of Christ.
